Artists can be awfully temperamental when suffering art block. None more so than in the early career of fine artist, Walter Sickert.
Under the apprenticeship of James Whistler, a Master of the arts, Walter becomes increasingly frustrated as his work receives constant rejection.
Not getting the respect he deserves, Walter soon goes to extreme lengths to achieve the inspiration he needs to make his masterpiece.
Using his past theatrical skills he creates the persona of Jack to help gain artistic clarity.
Walter still struggles to secure the inspiration he desires through his victims provoking him to take greater risks as Jack. As he aims for a victim of a higher class, how far will he go to achieve success?
