Readers know Koinsky from the Desert Scorpions series, in which we followed his military adventures in North Africa. Koinsky Relates... Half a Dozen Things I Know About Them, are stories taken from the war memoirs that this Polish major wrote during the Italian campaign of 1943/45.
These stories were drawn by Hugo Pratt during his time in London (1956-1957) and were published in the magazine Corto Maltese between 1988 and 1992. From the sands of the Libyan desert to the Japanese-infested forests, from the lagoons of Comacchio, in Italy, to the brothels in Africa, these war adventures constitute the smaller stories of men who daily have to deal with the most varied situations, which, however, will make the difference between living or dying.
